In September 2018 TYM started pilot testing a new approach for training and interacting with TYM clients. Accordingly, 500 women will be trained on savings and frequently encouraged to save via SMS and Zalo messages.
500 women including rural and urban ones were selected from Nam Dinh City Branch and Thai Nguyen Branch for this project. The goal of the project is that after 7 weeks these women will receive messages on financial management and savings, which help improve their awareness and change their behaviors in a good way. As for the women who have already learnt savings, the messages will give them more motivations to keep saving habit.
To meet this goal, TYM has developed a series of messages to be sent to the members during 7 weeks. Upon receiving a message, a member will not only learn but also interact with TYM by replying with “Yes” or “No”. Based on members’ responses and reactions, TYM know what they are doing and what they think of financial management and savings. Thus TYM will not only send them suitable messages to help them but also build up our data on their financial literacy, which is of great use for our further training and communication programs for the members
TYM organized financial education classes for all TYM members at the center meetings
By doing this, the members do not have to attend in-class training courses and still gain knowledge and motivation from TYM. They can learn at home in their spare time. With this pilot test, TYM hope that we can apply this new approach for as a great number of members in the future.
